Chandrashekar Devegowda 2dd711102c Bluetooth: btintel_pcie: Increase the tx and rx descriptor count
This change addresses latency issues observed in HID use cases where
events arrive in bursts. By increasing the Rx descriptor count to 64,
the firmware can handle bursty data more effectively, reducing latency
and preventing buffer overflows.

Kiran K daabd27698 Bluetooth: btintel_pcie: Fix driver not posting maximum rx buffers
The driver was posting only 6 rx buffers, despite the maximum rx buffers
being defined as 16. Having fewer RX buffers caused firmware exceptions
in HID use cases when events arrived in bursts.

Exception seen on android 6.12 kernel.

Bartosz Golaszewski 0fb410c914 Bluetooth: hci_qca: move the SoC type check to the right place
Commit 3d05fc8223 ("Bluetooth: qca: set power_ctrl_enabled on NULL
returned by gpiod_get_optional()") accidentally changed the prevous
behavior where power control would be disabled without the BT_EN GPIO
only on QCA_WCN6750 and QCA_WCN6855 while also getting the error check
wrong. We should treat every IS_ERR() return value from
devm_gpiod_get_optional() as a reason to bail-out while we should only
set power_ctrl_enabled to false on the two models mentioned above. While
at it: use dev_err_probe() to save a LOC.

Krzysztof Kozlowski edc14f2adc Bluetooth: btnxpuart: Fix missing devm_request_irq() return value check
Return value of devm_request_irq() must be checked (function is even
annotated) and without it clang W=1 complains:

  btnxpuart.c:494:6: error: unused variable 'ret' [-Werror,-Wunused-variable]

Setting up wakeup IRQ handler is not really critical, because the
handler is empty, so just log the informational message so user could
submit proper bug report and silences the clang warning.

Kees Cook 3aa1dc3c90 Bluetooth: btintel: Check dsbr size from EFI variable
Since the size of struct btintel_dsbr is already known, we can just
start there instead of querying the EFI variable size. If the final
result doesn't match what we expect also fail. This fixes a stack buffer
overflow when the EFI variable is larger than struct btintel_dsbr.

En-Wei Wu c27046c98b Bluetooth: btusb: use skb_pull to avoid unsafe access in QCA dump handling
Use skb_pull() and skb_pull_data() to safely parse QCA dump packets.

This avoids direct pointer math on skb->data, which could lead to
invalid access if the packet is shorter than expected.

Dumping debug registers on GP1 MSIx and error conditions, such as TX
completion timeout, aiding in understanding the controller's state

Hsin-chen Chuang 96ace5519f Revert "Bluetooth: btusb: add sysfs attribute to control USB alt setting"
This reverts commit b16b327edb.

The sysfs node introduced by this patch could potentially race with user
space. The original motivation - Support configuring altsetting from the
user space will be added by another series.

This patch doesn't work quite well - It's observed that with this patch
HFP is flaky on most of the existing USB Bluetooth controllers: Intel
chips sometimes send out no packet for Transparent codec; MTK chips may
generate SCO data with a wrong handle for CVSD codec; RTK could split
the data with a wrong packet size for Transparent codec; ... etc.

Although commit 75ddcd5ad4 ("Bluetooth: btusb: Configure altsetting
for HCI_USER_CHANNEL") has enabled the HCI_USER_CHANNEL user to send out
SCO data through USB Bluetooth chips, it's observed that with the patch
HFP is flaky on most of the existing USB Bluetooth controllers: Intel
chips sometimes send out no packet for Transparent codec; MTK chips may
generate SCO data with a wrong handle for CVSD codec; RTK could split
the data with a wrong packet size for Transparent codec; ... etc.

To address the issue above one needs to reset the altsetting back to
zero when there is no active SCO connection, which is the same as the
BlueZ behavior, and another benefit is the bus doesn't need to reserve
bandwidth when no SCO connection.

This patch adds "Supported Altsettings" and "Switch Altsetting" commands
that allow the user space program to configure the altsetting freely.

This patch is tested on ChromeOS devices. The USB Bluetooth models
(CVSD, TRANS alt3, and TRANS alt6) could pass the stress HFP test narrow
band speech and wide band speech.

talk to Bluetooth drivers directly:
- Define the new packet type HCI_DRV_PKT which is specifically used for
  communication between the user space program and the Bluetooth drviers
- hci_send_frame intercepts the packets and invokes drivers' HCI Drv
  callbacks (so far only defined for btusb)
- 2 kinds of events to user space: Command Status and Command Complete,
  the former simply returns the status while the later may contain
  additional response data.

Neeraj Sanjay Kale c50b56664e Bluetooth: btnxpuart: Implement host-wakeup feature
This implements host wakeup feature by reading the device tree property
wakeup-source and 'wakeup' interrupt, and nxp,wakeout-pin, and configuring
it as a FALLING EDGE triggered interrupt.

When host is suspended, a trigger from the WAKE_OUT pin of the
controller wakes it up.

To enable this feature, both device tree properties are needed to be
defined.

Due to a hardware issue, there is a possibility that the driver may miss
an MSIx interrupt on the RX/TX data path. Since the TX and RX paths are
independent, when a TX MSIx interrupt occurs, the driver can check the
RX queue for any pending data and process it if present. The same
approach applies to the RX path.

The issue stems from handle_dump_pkt_qca() returning 0 even when a dump
packet is successfully processed. This is because it incorrectly
forwards the return value of hci_devcd_init() (which returns 0 on
success). As a result, the caller (btusb_recv_acl_qca() or
btusb_recv_evt_qca()) assumes the packet was not handled and passes it
to hci_recv_frame(), leading to premature kfree() of the skb.

Later, hci_devcd_rx() attempts to dequeue the same skb from the dump
queue, resulting in a NULL pointer dereference.

Fix this by:
1. Making handle_dump_pkt_qca() return 0 on success and negative errno
   on failure, consistent with kernel conventions.
2. Splitting dump packet detection into separate functions for ACL
   and event packets for better structure and readability.

This ensures dump packets are properly identified and consumed, avoiding
double handling and preventing NULL pointer access.

Neeraj Sanjay Kale 61a9c6e39c Bluetooth: btnxpuart: Revert baudrate change in nxp_shutdown
This reverts the change baudrate logic in nxp_shutdown.

Earlier, when the driver was removed, it restored the controller
baudrate to fw_init_baudrate, so that on re-loading the driver, things
work fine.

However, if the driver was removed while hci0 interface is down, the
change baudrate vendor command could not be sent by the driver. When the
driver was re-loaded, host and controller baudrate would be mismatched
and hci initialization would fail. The only way to recover would be to
reboot the system.

This issue was fixed by moving the restore baudrate logic from
nxp_serdev_remove() to nxp_shutdown().

This fix however caused another issue with the command "hciconfig hci0
reset", which makes hci0 DOWN and UP immediately.

Running "bluetoothctl power off" and "bluetoothctl power on" in a tight
loop works fine.

To maintain support for "hciconfig reset" command, the above mentioned fix
is reverted.

Neeraj Sanjay Kale bf81cf29b7 Bluetooth: btnxpuart: Handle bootloader error during cmd5 and cmd7
This handles the scenario where the driver receives an error code after
sending cmd5 or cmd7 in the bootloader signature during FW download.
The bootloader error code is handled by the driver and FW offset is
corrected accordingly, and the cmd5 or cmd7 is re-sent to the controller
in case of CRC error.

BRDS - Bluetooth Regulatory Domain Specific absorption rate

Bluetooth has regulatory limitations which prohibit or allow usage of certain
bands or channels as well as limiting Tx power. The Tx power values can be
configured in ACPI table. This patch reads from ACPI entry configures the
controller accordingly.

Sean Wang 6ac4233afb Bluetooth: btmtksdio: Prevent enabling interrupts after IRQ handler removal
Ensure interrupts are not re-enabled when the IRQ handler has already been
removed. This prevents unexpected IRQ handler execution due to stale or
unhandled interrupts.

Modify btmtksdio_txrx_work to check if bdev->func->irq_handler exists
before calling sdio_writel to enable interrupts.

Neeraj Sanjay Kale 9148ac0a16 Bluetooth: btnxpuart: Add support to set BD address
This adds support for setting BD address during hci registration. NXP
FW does not allow vendor commands unless it receives a reset command
after FW download and initialization done.

As a workaround, the .set_bdaddr callback function will first send the
HCI reset command, followed by the actual vendor command to set BD
address.

The driver checks for the local-bd-address property in device tree, and
if preset, it sets the HCI_QUIRK_USE_BDADDR_PROPERTY quirk.

With this quirk set, the driver's set_bdaddr callback function is called
after FW download is complete and before HCI initialization, which sends
the hci reset and 3f 22 commands. During initialization, kernel reads
the newly set BD address from the controller.

Neeraj Sanjay Kale 998e447f44 Bluetooth: btnxpuart: Add support for HCI coredump feature
This adds support for Bluetooth Coredump feature to BTNXPUART driver to
collect FW dumps on demand, or in case FW goes in a bad state.

To trigger manual FW dump, following command can be used:
echo 1 > /sys/class/bluetooth/hci0/device/coredump

Once FW dump is complete, it can be written to a file:
cat /sys/class/bluetooth/hci0/devcoredump/data > fw_dump

While FW dump is in progress, any HCI command will return -EBUSY.

After FW dump is complete, driver will give HCI_NXP_IND_RESET command
which soft-resets the chip, allowing FW re-download.

Neeraj Sanjay Kale 6fca6781d1 Bluetooth: btnxpuart: Move vendor specific initialization to .post_init
This moves change baudrate and power save vendor commands from
nxp_setup() to nxp_post_init().

This also moves the baudrate restore logic from nxp_serdev_remove() to
nxp_shutdown() which ensure baudrate is restored even when HCI dev is
down, preventing baudrate mismatch between host and controller when
device is probed again next time.

In case of removal when the hdev is up and running, we have to call the
shutdown procedure explicitly before unregistering the hdev.

Pedro Nishiyama 1f04b0e5e3 Bluetooth: btusb: Fix regression in the initialization of fake Bluetooth controllers
Set HCI_READ_VOICE_SETTING and HCI_READ_PAGE_SCAN_TYPE as broken.

Once the min/max length of the commands began to be asserted, these fake
controllers can no longer be initialized because they return a smaller
report for these commands.

This affects various fake controllers reusing the 0A12:0001 VID/PID.

Kiran K b9465e6670 Bluetooth: btintel_pcie: Read hardware exception data
On hardware error, controller writes hardware error event and optional
vendor specific hci events in device memory in TLV format and raises
MSIX interrupt. Driver reads the device memory and passes the events to
the stack for further processing.

WCN3950 is another example of the WCN39xx BT/WiFI family of chips. It
requires different firmware files and has different current
requirements, so add it as a separate SoC type.

Arseniy Krasnov 5df5dafc17 Bluetooth: hci_uart: Fix another race during initialization
Do not set 'HCI_UART_PROTO_READY' before call 'hci_uart_register_dev()'.
Possible race is when someone calls 'hci_tty_uart_close()' after this bit
is set, but 'hci_uart_register_dev()' wasn't done. This leads to access
to uninitialized fields. To fix it let's set this bit after device was
registered (as before patch c411c62cc133) and to fix previous problem let's
add one more bit in addition to 'HCI_UART_PROTO_READY' which allows to
perform power up without original bit set (pls see commit c411c62cc133).

Arseniy Krasnov 366ceff495 Bluetooth: hci_uart: fix race during initialization
'hci_register_dev()' calls power up function, which is executed by
kworker - 'hci_power_on()'. This function does access to bluetooth chip
using callbacks from 'hci_ldisc.c', for example 'hci_uart_send_frame()'.
Now 'hci_uart_send_frame()' checks 'HCI_UART_PROTO_READY' bit set, and
if not - it fails. Problem is that 'HCI_UART_PROTO_READY' is set after
'hci_register_dev()', and there is tiny chance that 'hci_power_on()' will
be executed before setting this bit. In that case HCI init logic fails.

Patch moves setting of 'HCI_UART_PROTO_READY' before calling function
'hci_uart_register_dev()'.

Hsin-chen Chuang 75ddcd5ad4 Bluetooth: btusb: Configure altsetting for HCI_USER_CHANNEL
Automatically configure the altsetting for HCI_USER_CHANNEL when a SCO
is connected.

The motivation is to enable the HCI_USER_CHANNEL user to send out SCO
data through USB Bluetooth chips, which is mainly used for bidirectional
audio transfer (voice call). This was not capable because:

- Per Bluetooth Core Spec v5, Vol 4, Part B, 2.1, the corresponding
  alternate setting should be set based on the air mode in order to
  transfer SCO data, but
- The Linux Bluetooth HCI_USER_CHANNEL exposes the Bluetooth Host
  Controller Interface to the user space, which is something above the
  USB layer. The user space is not able to configure the USB alt while
  keeping the channel open.

This patch intercepts the HCI_EV_SYNC_CONN_COMPLETE packets in btusb,
extracts the air mode, and configures the alt setting in btusb.

This patch is tested on ChromeOS devices. The USB Bluetooth models
(CVSD, TRANS alt3 and alt6) could work without a customized kernel.

Kiran K 872274b992 Bluetooth: btintel_pcie: Fix a potential race condition
On HCI_OP_RESET command, firmware raises alive interrupt. Driver needs
to wait for this before sending other command. This patch fixes the potential
miss of alive interrupt due to which HCI_OP_RESET can timeout.

Expected flow:
If tx command is HCI_OP_RESET,
  1. set data->gp0_received = false
  2. send HCI_OP_RESET
  3. wait for alive interrupt

Actual flow having potential race:
If tx command is HCI_OP_RESET,
 1. send HCI_OP_RESET
   1a. Firmware raises alive interrupt here and in ISR
       data->gp0_received  is set to true
 2. set data->gp0_received = false
 3. wait for alive interrupt

Neeraj Sanjay Kale 7de119bb79 Bluetooth: btnxpuart: Fix glitches seen in dual A2DP streaming
This fixes a regression caused by previous commit for fixing truncated
ACL data, which is causing some intermittent glitches when running two
A2DP streams.

serdev_device_write_buf() is the root cause of the glitch, which is
reverted, and the TX work will continue to write until the queue is empty.

This change fixes both issues. No A2DP streaming glitches or truncated
ACL data issue observed.

Douglas Anderson e9087e8288 Bluetooth: btusb: mediatek: Add locks for usb_driver_claim_interface()
The documentation for usb_driver_claim_interface() says that "the
device lock" is needed when the function is called from places other
than probe(). This appears to be the lock for the USB interface
device. The Mediatek btusb code gets called via this path:

interface". Sometimes we'd even see worse errors, like a NULL pointer
dereference (where `intf->dev.driver` was NULL) with a trace like:

Zijun Hu a2fad24894 Bluetooth: qca: Fix poor RF performance for WCN6855
For WCN6855, board ID specific NVM needs to be downloaded once board ID
is available, but the default NVM is always downloaded currently.

The wrong NVM causes poor RF performance, and effects user experience

Hsin-chen Chuang f07d478090 Bluetooth: Get rid of cmd_timeout and use the reset callback
The hdev->reset is never used now and the hdev->cmd_timeout actually
does reset. This patch changes the call path from
  hdev->cmd_timeout -> vendor_cmd_timeout -> btusb_reset -> hdev->reset
, to
  hdev->reset -> vendor_reset -> btusb_reset
Which makes it clear when we export the hdev->reset to a wider usage
e.g. allowing reset from sysfs.

This patch doesn't introduce any behavior change.

Replace ternary (condition ? "enable" : "disable") syntax with helpers
from string_choices.h because:
1. Simple function call with one argument is easier to read.  Ternary
   operator has three arguments and with wrapping might lead to quite
   long code.
2. Is slightly shorter thus also easier to read.
3. It brings uniformity in the text - same string.
4. Allows deduping by the linker, which results in a smaller binary
   file.

Cheng Jiang 30209aeff7 Bluetooth: qca: Expand firmware-name to load specific rampatch
The firmware-name property has been expanded to specify the names of NVM
and rampatch firmware for certain chips, such as the QCA6698 Bluetooth
chip. Although it shares the same IP core as the WCN6855, the QCA6698
has different RF components and RAM sizes, necessitating new firmware
files. This change allows for the configuration of NVM and rampatch in
DT.

Cheng Jiang a4c5a468c6 Bluetooth: qca: Update firmware-name to support board specific nvm
Different connectivity boards may be attached to the same platform. For
example, QCA6698-based boards can support either a two-antenna or
three-antenna solution, both of which work on the sa8775p-ride platform.
Due to differences in connectivity boards and variations in RF
performance from different foundries, different NVM configurations are
used based on the board ID.

Therefore, in the firmware-name property, if the NVM file has an
extension, the NVM file will be used. Otherwise, the system will first
try the .bNN (board ID) file, and if that fails, it will fall back to
the .bin file.

Possible configurations:

A new machine has a Archer AX3000 / TX55e in it,
and out the box reported issues resetting hci0. It looks like
this is a MT7922 from the lspci output, so treat it as a MediaTek

Ying Hsu b16b327edb Bluetooth: btusb: add sysfs attribute to control USB alt setting
When a Bluetooth raw socket is open, the HCI event related to SCO
connection changes are not dispatched to the hci_event module, and
the underlying Bluetooth controller's USB Interface 1 will not be
updated accordingly.

This patch adds `isoc_alt` sysfs attribute, allowing user space
to update the alternate setting of the USB interface alternate
setting as needed.

Neeraj Sanjay Kale 8023dd2204 Bluetooth: btnxpuart: Fix driver sending truncated data
This fixes the apparent controller hang issue seen during stress test
where the host sends a truncated payload, followed by HCI commands. The
controller treats these HCI commands as a part of previously truncated
payload, leading to command timeouts.

Adding a serdev_device_wait_until_sent() call after
serdev_device_write_buf() fixed the issue.

Linus Torvalds e70140ba0d Get rid of 'remove_new' relic from platform driver struct
The continual trickle of small conversion patches is grating on me, and
is really not helping.  Just get rid of the 'remove_new' member
function, which is just an alias for the plain 'remove', and had a
comment to that effect:

  /*
   * .remove_new() is a relic from a prototype conversion of .remove().
   * New drivers are supposed to implement .remove(). Once all drivers are
   * converted to not use .remove_new any more, it will be dropped.
   */

This was just a tree-wide 'sed' script that replaced '.remove_new' with
'.remove', with some care taken to turn a subsequent tab into two tabs
to make things line up.

I did do some minimal manual whitespace adjustment for places that used
spaces to line things up.

Then I just removed the old (sic) .remove_new member function, and this
is the end result.  No more unnecessary conversion noise.

Hilda Wu 2dc98ac1cb Bluetooth: btrtl: Decrease HCI_OP_RESET timeout from 10 s to 2 s
The original timeout setting for HCI Reset on shutdown is 10 seconds.
HCI Reset shouldn't take 10 seconds to complete so instead use the
default timeout for commands.

Javier Carrasco e42eec0f18 Bluetooth: btbcm: fix missing of_node_put() in btbcm_get_board_name()
of_find_node_by_path() returns a pointer to a device_node with its
refcount incremented, and a call to of_node_put() is required to
decrement the refcount again and avoid leaking the resource.

If 'of_property_read_string_index(root, "compatible", 0, &tmp)' fails,
the function returns without calling of_node_put(root) before doing so.

The automatic cleanup attribute can be used by means of the __free()
macro to automatically call of_node_put() when the variable goes out of
scope, fixing the issue and also accounting for new error paths.

If there is an unexpected BT usb disconnect during setup flow,

to do iso data anchor init.
