Commit 223f61b8c5 ("Input: soc_button_array - add Lenovo Yoga Tablet2
1051L to the dmi_use_low_level_irq list") added the 1051L to this list
already, but the same problem applies to the 1051F. As there are no
further 1051 variants (just the F/L), we can just DMI match 1051.
Tested on a Lenovo Yoga Tablet2 1051F: Without this patch the
home-button stops working after a wakeup from suspend.

Sync up with mainline to get updates to OMAP4 keypad driver and other
upstream goodies.
Instead of a virtual kernel address use a pointer of the associated
struct page as second parameter of gnttab_end_foreign_access().
Most users have that pointer available already and are creating the
virtual address from it, risking problems in case the memory is
located in highmem.
gnttab_end_foreign_access() itself won't need to get the struct page
from the address again.

The status of the keys connected to the KPDPWR_N and RESIN_N pins
is identified by reading corresponding bits in the interrupt real
time status register. If the status has changed by the time that
the interrupt is handled then a press event will be missed.
Maintain a last known status variable to find unbalanced release
events and simulate press events for each accordingly.

On certain PMICs, an unexpected assertion of KPDPWR_DEB (the
positive logic hardware debounced power key signal) may be seen
during the falling edge of KPDPWR_N (i.e. a power key press) when
it occurs close to the rising edge of SLEEP_CLK. This then
triggers a spurious KPDPWR interrupt.
Handle this issue by adding software debouncing support to ignore
key events that occur within the hardware debounce delay after the
most recent key release event.

Currently, PON address is read from the "reg" property. For PON GEN3,
which starts with PMK8350, the "reg" property will have both the PON
HLOS and PON PBS addesses defined. Add support so that all PON
generations can be configured.

The third argument of usb_maxpacket(): in_out has been deprecated
because it could be derived from the second argument (e.g. using
usb_pipeout(pipe)).
N.B. function usb_maxpacket() was made variadic to accommodate the
transition from the old prototype with three arguments to the new one
with only two arguments (so that no renaming is needed). The variadic
argument is to be removed once all users of usb_maxpacket() get
migrated.

Select callers of iqs7222_parse_props() do not expect a child node
to be derived and returned via pointer. As such, these callers set
**child_node to NULL. However, this pointer is dereferenced in all
cases.
To solve this problem, dereference the pointer only for cases that
expect a child node in the first place. In these cases, the caller
provides a valid pointer.

If fwnode_property_count_u32() returns a negative error code then,
because of type promotion, the "count > ARRAY_SIZE(pins)" condition
will be true. The negative "count" is type promoted to a high unsigned
size_t value.
That means the "else if (count < 0)" condition will always be false and
we don't print that error message or propagate the error code from
fwnode_property_count_u32() as intended.
Fix this by re-ordering the checks so that we check for negative first.

The drivers/platform/surface/surface3_button.c code is alsmost a 1:1 copy
of the soc_button_array code.
The only big difference is that it binds to an i2c_client rather then to
a platform_device. The cause of this is the ACPI resources for the MSHW0028
device containing a bogus I2cSerialBusV2 resource which causes the kernel
to instantiate an i2c_client for it instead of a platform_device.
Add "MSHW0028" to the ignore_serial_bus_ids[] list in drivers/apci/scan.c,
so that a platform_device will be instantiated and add support for
the MSHW0028 HID to soc_button_array.
This fully replaces surface3_button, which will be removed in a separate
commit (since it binds to the now no longer created i2c_client it no
longer does anyyhing after this commit).
Note the MSHW0028 id is used by Microsoft to describe the tablet buttons on
both the Surface 3 and the Surface 3 Pro and the actual API/implementation
for the Surface 3 Pro is quite different. The changes in this commit should
not impact the separate surfacepro3_button driver:
1. Because of the bogus I2cSerialBusV2 resource problem that driver binds
to the acpi_device itself, so instantiating a platform_device instead of
an i2c_client does not matter.
2. The soc_button_array driver will not bind to the MSHW0028 device on
the Surface 3 Pro, because it has no GPIO resources.

The value returned by an spi driver's remove function is mostly ignored.
(Only an error message is printed if the value is non-zero that the
error is ignored.)
So change the prototype of the remove function to return no value. This
way driver authors are not tempted to assume that passing an error to
the upper layer is a good idea. All drivers are adapted accordingly.
There is no intended change of behaviour, all callbacks were prepared to
return 0 before.

The power button on Cherry Trail systems with an AXP288 PMIC is connected
to both the power button pin of the PMIC as well as to a power button GPIO
on the Cherry Trail SoC itself. This leads to double power button event
reporting which is a problem.
Since reporting power button presses through the PMIC is not supported on
all PMICs used on Cherry Trail systems, we want to keep the GPIO
power button events, so the axp20x-pek code checks for the presence of
a GPIO power button and in that case does not register its input-device.
On most systems the GPIO power button also can wake-up the system from
suspend, so the axp20x-pek driver would also not register its interrupt
handler. But on some systems there was a bug causing wakeup by the GPIO
power button handler to not work.
Commit 9747070c11 ("Input: axp20x-pek - always register interrupt
handlers") was added as a work around for this registering the axp20x-pek
interrupts, but not the input-device on Cherry Trail systems.
In the mean time the root-cause of the GPIO power button wakeup events
not working has been found and fixed by the "pinctrl: cherryview: Do not
allow the same interrupt line to be used by 2 pins" patch,
so this is no longer necessary.
This reverts the workaround going back to only registering the
interrupt handlers on systems where we also register the input-device.

Some automated builds report a stack frame size in excess of 2 kB for
iqs626_probe(); the culprit appears to be the call to iqs626_parse_prop().
To solve this problem, specify noinline_for_stack for all of the
iqs626_parse_*() helper functions which are called inside a for loop
within iqs626_parse_prop().
As a result, a build with '-Wframe-larger-than' as low as 512 is free of
any such warnings.

When booting the xenbus driver will wait for PV devices to have
connected to their backends before continuing. The timeout is different
between essential and non-essential devices.
Non-essential devices are identified by their nodenames directly in the
xenbus driver, which requires to update this list in case a new device
type being non-essential is added (this was missed for several types
in the past).
In order to avoid this problem, add a "not_essential" flag to struct
xenbus_driver which can be set to "true" by the respective frontend.
Set this flag for the frontends currently regarded to be not essential
(vkbs and vfb) and use it for testing in the xenbus driver.

Currently autoloading for SPI devices does not use the DT ID table, it uses
SPI modalises. Supporting OF modalises is going to be difficult if not
impractical, an attempt was made but has been reverted, so ensure that
module autoloading works for this driver by adding a SPI device ID table.

The Actions Semi ATC260x PMICs are able to manage an onkey button.
This driver exposes the ATC260x onkey as an input device. It can also
be configured to force a system reset on a long key-press with an
adjustable duration.
The currently supported chip variants are ATC2603C and ATC2609A.

This adds support for the power button attached to the Embedded Controller
on a Dell Wyse 3020 "Ariel" board.
The Embedded Controller's SPI interface is actually capable sending and
receiving the PS/2 keyboard and mouse protocol data, which looks like
a good fit for a serio driver. Howerver, I don't know of any machines where
this is actually used.
My board only has a single power button and no way to connect an actual
keyboard or a mouse. Using the atkbd driver with serio would be an overkill
and would be inconvenient for the userspace. Therefore this driver
registers an input device that is only capable of reporting the power
button presses and releases.

Some 2-in-1s which use the soc_button_array driver have this ugly issue in
their DSDT where the _LID method modifies the irq-type settings of the
GPIOs used for the power and home buttons. The intend of this AML code is
to disable these buttons when the lid is closed.
The AML does this by directly poking the GPIO controllers registers. This
is problematic because when re-enabling the irq, which happens whenever
_LID gets called with the lid open (e.g. on boot and on resume), it sets
the irq-type to IRQ_TYPE_LEVEL_LOW. Where as the gpio-keys driver programs
the type to, and expects it to be, IRQ_TYPE_EDGE_BOTH.
This commit adds a workaround for this which (on affected devices) does
not set gpio_keys_button.gpio on these 2-in-1s, instead it gets the irq for
the GPIO, configures it as IRQ_TYPE_LEVEL_LOW (to match how the _LID AML
code configures it) and passes the irq in gpio_keys_button.irq.

According to the Microsoft documentation for Windows 8 convertible
devices, these devices should implement a PNP0C60 "laptop/slate mode state
indicator" ACPI device.
This device can work in 2 ways, if there is a GPIO which directly
indicates the device is in tablet-mode or not then the direct-gpio mode
should be used. If there is no such GPIO, but instead the events are
coming from e.g. the embedded-controller, then there should still be
a PNP0C60 ACPI device and event-injection should be used to send the
events. The drivers/platform/x86/intel-vbtn.c code is an example from
a standardized manner of doing the latter.
On various 2-in-1s with either a detachable keyboard, or with 360°
hinges, the direct GPIO mode is indicated by an ACPI device with a
HID of INT33D3, which contains a single GpioInt in its ACPI resource
table, which directly indicates if the device is in tablet-mode or not.
This commit adds support for this to the soc_button_array code, as
well as for the alternative ID9001 HID which some devices use
instead of the INT33D3 HID.

This is a preparation patch for adding support for Intel INT33D3
ACPI devices. These INT33D3 devices follow yet another Intel defined
(but not documented) ACPI GPIO button standard.
Unlike the ACPI GPIO button devices supported so far, the GPIO used in
the INT33D3 devices is active-high, rather then active-low.
This commit makes setting the gpio_keys_button.active_low flag
configurable through the soc_button_info struct and enables it for all
currently supported devices.

Currently the assignment of -ENOMEM to error is redundant because error
is not being read and -ENOMEM is being hard coded as an error return.
Fix this by returning the error code in variable 'error'; this also
allows the error code from a failed call to input_register_device to
be preserved and returned to the caller rather than just returning
a possibly inappropriate -ENOMEM.
Kudos to Dan Carpenter for the suggestion of an improved fix.

Sync up with mainline to get device tree and other changes.
On some X86 devices we do not register an input-device, because the
power-button is also handled by the soc_button_array (GPIO) input driver,
and we want to avoid reporting power-button presses to userspace twice.
Sofar when we did this we also did not register our interrupt handlers,
since those were only necessary to report input events.
But on at least 2 device models the Medion Akoya E1239T and the GPD win,
the GPIO pin used by the soc_button_array driver for the power-button
cannot wakeup the system from suspend. Why this does not work is not clear,
I've tried comparing the value of all relevant registers on the Cherry
Trail SoC, with those from models where this does work. I've checked:
PMC registers: FUNC_DIS, FUNC_DIS2, SOIX_WAKE_EN, D3_STS_0, D3_STS_1,
D3_STDBY_STS_0, D3_STDBY_STS_1; PMC ACPI I/O regs: PM1_STS_EN, GPE0a_EN
and they all have identical contents in the working and non working cases.
I suspect that the firmware either sets some unknown register to a value
causing this, or that it turns off a power-plane which is necessary for
GPIO wakeups to work during suspend.
What does work on the Medion Akoya E1239T is letting the AXP288 wakeup
the system on a power-button press (the GPD win has a different PMIC).
Move the registering of the power-button press/release interrupt-handler
from axp20x_pek_probe_input_device() to axp20x_pek_probe() so that the
PMIC will wakeup the system on a power-button press, even if we do not
register an input device.

Unlike most other power button drivers, this driver unconditionally
enables its wakeup IRQ. It should be using device_may_wakeup() to
respect the userspace configuration of wakeup sources.
Because the AXP20x MFD device uses regmap-irq, the AXP20x PEK IRQs are
nested off of regmap-irq's threaded interrupt handler. The device core
ignores such interrupts, so to actually disable wakeup, we must
explicitly disable all non-wakeup interrupts during suspend.

Setting the vibrator enable_mask is not implemented correctly:
For regmap_update_bits(map, reg, mask, val) we give in either
regs->enable_mask or 0 (= no-op) as mask and "val" as value.
But "val" actually refers to the vibrator voltage control register,
which has nothing to do with the enable_mask.
So we usually end up doing nothing when we really wanted
to enable the vibrator.
We want to set or clear the enable_mask (to enable/disable the vibrator).
Therefore, change the call to always modify the enable_mask
and set the bits only if we want to enable the vibrator.

The driver was issuing synchronous uninterruptible control requests
without using a timeout. This could lead to the driver hanging on probe
due to a malfunctioning (or malicious) device until the device is
physically disconnected. While sleeping in probe the driver prevents
other devices connected to the same hub from being added to (or removed
from) the bus.
The USB upper limit of five seconds per request should be more than
enough.

Going through all uses of timeval, I noticed that we screwed up
input_event in the previous attempts to fix it:
The time fields now match between kernel and user space, but all following
fields are in the wrong place.
Add the required padding that is implied by the glibc timeval definition
to fix the layout, and use a struct initializer to avoid leaking kernel
stack data.

uinput device is always available for writing so we should always report
EPOLLOUT and EPOLLWRNORM bits, not only when there is nothing to read from
the device.

mode of standard input devices and removes dependency on INPUT_POLLDEV.
note that with regular input devices handling polling, there is no longer a
benefit in having separate INPUT_KXTJ9_POLLED_MODE config option.

The driver contains half of the implementation of /dev/rtc, but this
was never completed, and it is now incompatible with the drivers/rtc
framework.
Remove the chardev completely. If anyone wants to add the functionality
later, that shoudl be done through rtc_register_device().
The remaining portions of the driver basically implement a single
procfs file that may or may not be used anywhere. Not sure why this
is in drivers/input/ though.

Commit c394159310 ("Input: soc_button_array - add support for newer
surface devices") not only added support for the MSHW0040 ACPI HID,
but for some reason it also makes changes to the error handling of the
soc_button_lookup_gpio() call in soc_button_device_create(). Note ideally
this seamingly unrelated change would have been made in a separate commit,
with a message explaining the what and why of this change.
I guess this change may have been added to deal with -EPROBE_DEFER errors,
but in case of the existing support for PNP0C40 devices, treating
-EPROBE_DEFER as any other error is deliberate, see the comment this
commit adds for why.
The actual returning of -EPROBE_DEFER to the caller of soc_button_probe()
introduced by the new error checking causes a serious regression:
On devices with so called virtual GPIOs soc_button_lookup_gpio() will
always return -EPROBE_DEFER for these fake GPIOs, when this happens
during the second call of soc_button_device_create() we already have
successfully registered our first child. This causes the kernel to think
we are making progress with probing things even though we unregister the
child before again before we return the -EPROBE_DEFER. Since we are making
progress the kernel will retry deferred-probes again immediately ending
up stuck in a loop with the following showing in dmesg:

Since commit f889beaaab ("Input: da9063 - report KEY_POWER instead of
KEY_SLEEP during power key-press") KEY_SLEEP isn't supported anymore. This
caused input device to not generate any events if "dlg,disable-key-power"
is set.
Fix this by unconditionally setting KEY_POWER capability, and not
declaring KEY_SLEEP.

Power and volume button support for 5th and 6th generation Microsoft
Surface devices via soc_button_array.
Note that these devices use the same MSHW0040 device as on the Surface
Pro 4, however the implementation is different (GPIOs vs. ACPI
notifications). Thus some checking is required to ensure we only load
this driver on the correct devices.

In the case of compat syscall ioctl numbers for UI_BEGIN_FF_UPLOAD and
UI_END_FF_UPLOAD need to be adjusted before being passed on
uinput_ioctl_handler() since code built with -m32 will be passing
slightly different values. Extend the code already covering
UI_SET_PHYS to cover UI_BEGIN_FF_UPLOAD and UI_END_FF_UPLOAD as well.
