In commit 40d8aff614 ("soc: samsung: chipid: Convert exynos-chipid
driver to use the regmap API") of_find_compatible_node() call was
substituted with syscon_regmap_lookup_by_compatible() but also an error
log was added for case where lookup fails. On multiplatform the lookup
will always fail on any non-samsung device so the log is incorrect.
Remove the error log and just return an error code from
syscon_regmap_lookup_by_compatible() which internally calls
of_find_compatible_node().

sof_get_control_data returns negative values even though the return
value is defined unsigned (size_t). So change the return value type to
int and add the data size as pointer argument to sof_get_control_data to
avoid ambiquity in the meaning of the return type.

We can find specified name component via snd_soc_rtdcom_lookup().
But, it is not enough under multi CPU/Codec/Platform, because many
components which have same driver name might be connected to same rtd.
Not using this function as much as possible is best solution,
but some drivers are already deeply depended to it.
We can expand this function, for example having "num" which specifies
found order at parameter, etc (In such case, it need to have fixed
probing order).
Or, use different driver name in such component, etc.
We will have such issue if multi CPU/Codec/Platform were supported.
To indicate it, this patch adds NOTE to this function.

It is easy to read code if it is cleanly using paired function/naming,
like start <-> stop, register <-> unregister, etc, etc.
But, current ALSA SoC code is very random, unbalance, not paired, etc.
soc-core.c is using device_unregiser(), but there is no its paired
device_regiser(). We can find its code at soc_post_component_init()
which is using device_initialize() and device_add().
Here, device_initialize() + device_add() = device_register().

Remove the num-lanes property to avoid the driver setting the
link width.
On FSL Layerscape SoCs, the number of lanes assigned to PCIe
controller is not fixed, it is determined by the selected SerDes
protocol in the RCW (Reset Configuration Word).
The PCIe link training is completed automatically through the selected
SerDes protocol - the link width set-up is updated by hardware after
power on reset, so the num-lanes property is not needed for Layerscape
PCIe.
The current num-lanes property was added erroneously, which actually
indicates the maximum lanes the PCIe controller can support up to,
instead of the lanes assigned to the PCIe controller. The link width set
by SerDes protocol will be overridden by the num-lanes property, hence
the subsequent re-training will fail when the assigned lanes do not
match the value in the num-lanes property.
Remove the property to fix the issue

The num-lanes is optional since it is not needed on some platforms
that bring up the link in firmware.
The link programming is based on the num-lanes properties (which is
optional); if it is not present code must return instead of fiddling
with the lanes value to print an error message.

When ATS is not in use, we can avoid taking the 'devices_lock' for the
domain on the invalidation path by simply caching the number of ATS
masters currently attached. The fiddly part is handling a concurrent
->attach() of an ATS-enabled master to a domain that is being
invalidated, but we can handle this using an 'smp_mb()' to ensure that
our check of the count is ordered after completion of our prior TLB
invalidation.
This also makes our ->attach() and ->detach() flows symmetric wrt ATS
interactions.

The num-lanes is not a mandatory property, e.g. on FSL
Layerscape SoCs, the PCIe link training is completed
automatically based on the selected SerDes protocol, it
does not need the num-lanes to set-up the link width.
Currently it is both a Required and Optional property,
let's remove it from the Required properties.

The struct chip_select array that's used for saving chip select bases
and masks is fixed at length of two. There should be one struct
chip_select for each controller, so this array should be increased to
support systems that may have more than two controllers.
Increase the size of the struct chip_select array to eight, which is the
largest number of controllers per die currently supported on AMD
systems.
Fix number of DIMMs and Chip Select bases/masks on Family17h, because
AMD Family 17h systems support 2 DIMMs, 4 CS bases, and 2 CS masks per
channel.
Also, carve out the Family 17h+ reading of the bases/masks into a
separate function. This effectively reverts the original bases/masks
reading code to before Family 17h support was added.

We still treat devices without a DMA mask as defaulting to 32-bits for
both mask, but a few releases ago we've started warning about such
cases, as they require special cases to work around this sloppyness.
Add a dma_mask field to struct platform_device so that we can initialize
the dma_mask pointer in struct device and initialize both masks to
32-bits by default, replacing similar functionality in m68k and
powerpc. The arch_setup_pdev_archdata hooks is now unused and removed.
Note that the code looks a little odd with the various conditionals
because we have to support platform_device structures that are
statically allocated.

checking code out of ipmi_smi_msg_received and into handle_one_recv_msg,
which processes the message checking after ipmi_thread releases its

handle_new_recv_msgs calls ipmi_free_msg when handle_one_rcv_msg returns
zero, so that the call to ipmi_free_msg in handle_one_rcv_msg introduced
another panic when "ipmitool sensor list" was run in a loop. He
submitted this part of the patch.

It is possible that SSIF interface entry is present in both DMI and ACPI
tables. In SMP systems, in such cases it is possible that ssif_probe could
be called simultaneously from i2c interface (from ACPI) and from DMI on
different CPUs at kernel boot. Both try to register same SSIF interface
simultaneously and result in race.
In such cases where ACPI and SMBIOS both IPMI entries are available, we
need to prefer ACPI over SMBIOS so that ACPI functions work properly if
they use IPMI.
So, if we get an ACPI interface and have already registered an SMBIOS
at the same address, we need to remove the SMBIOS one and add the ACPI.

This patch introduce new enum which contains all VPU family (GXBB,
GXL, GXM and G12A).
This enum is used to detect the VPU compatible with the device.
We only need to set .data to the corresponding enum in the device
table, no need to check .compatible string anymore.

This panel is not very friendly to us:
it exposes multiple multitouch collections, some of them being of
logical application stylus.
Usually, a device has only one report per application, and that is
what I assumed in commit 8dfe14b3b4 ("HID: multitouch: ditch mt_report_id")
To avoid breaking all working device, add a new class and a new quirk
for that situation.

It was a good idea at the time to not create a mouse node for the
multitouch touchscreens, but:
- touchscreens following the Win 8 protocol should not have this
disturbing mouse node anymore, or if they have, it should be
used for something else (like a joystick attached to the screen)
- touchpads have it, and they should not use it unless there is a bug,
but when the laptop has a trackstick, the data are reported through this
mouse node.
So instead of whitelisting all of the devices that have a need for the
mouse node, just export it.
hid-input.c will append a suffix to it ('Mouse'), so users will eventually
see if something goes wrong.

If the number of dirty pages to be written back is large,
then writeback_inodes_sb will block waiting for a long time,
causing hung task detection alarm. Therefore, we should limit
the maximum number of pages written back this time, which let
the budget be completed faster. The remaining dirty pages
tend to rely on the writeback mechanism to complete the
synchronization.

Currently on a freshly mounted UBIFS, c->min_log_bytes is 0.
This can lead to a log overrun and make commits fail.
Recent kernels will report the following assert:
UBIFS assert failed: c->lhead_lnum != c->ltail_lnum, in fs/ubifs/log.c:412
c->min_log_bytes can have two states, 0 and c->leb_size.
It controls how much bytes of the log area are reserved for non-bud
nodes such as commit nodes.
After a commit it has to be set to c->leb_size such that we have always
enough space for a commit. While a commit runs it can be 0 to make the
remaining bytes of the log available to writers.
Having it set to 0 right after mount is wrong since no space for commits
is reserved.

On the other hand, uapi headers are written in more strict C, where
the C++ comment style is forbidden.
I simply dropped these lines instead of fixing the comment style.
This code has been always commented out since it was added around
Linux 2.4.9 (i.e. commented out for more than 17 years).
'Maybe later...' will never happen.

All user level and most in-kernel applications submit WQEs
where the SG list entries are all of a single type.
iSER in particular, however, will send us WQEs with mixed SG
types: sge[0] = kernel buffer, sge[1] = PBL region.
Check and set is_kva on each SG entry individually instead of
assuming the first SGE type carries through to the last.
This fixes iSER over siw.

Support for the USB regulator of AB8500 was removed in
commit 41a06aa738 ("regulator: ab8500: Remove USB regulator").
However, the configuration was never removed from the device tree.
It does no longer have any effect, remove it from the device tree.

Some Ux500 devices use the newer AB8505 PMIC instead of AB8500.
Although they are very similar, there are subtle differences
like the number of regulators or the available GPIO pins.
At the moment, ste-dbx5x0.dtsi always configures the AB8500 PMIC.
To support devices with AB8505, it is necessary to split the
AB8500-specific parts into a separate .dtsi file. Boards can then
select the PMIC by including either ste-ab8500.dtsi or ste-ab8505.dtsi.

This is a common pattern in the HID drivers to reset the drvdata. Some
do it properly, some do it only in case of failure.
But, this is actually already handled by driver core, so there is no need
to do it manually.

An async call followed by an rpc_wait_for_completion() is basically the
same as a synchronous call, so we can use nfs4_call_sync_custom() to
keep our custom callback ops and the RPC_TASK_NO_ROUND_ROBIN flag.
