Linus Torvalds 8be4d31cb8 Networking changes for 6.17.
Core & protocols
 ----------------

  - Wrap datapath globals into net_aligned_data, to avoid false sharing.

  - Preserve MSG_ZEROCOPY in forwarding (e.g. out of a container).

  - Add SO_INQ and SCM_INQ support to AF_UNIX.

  - Add SIOCINQ support to AF_VSOCK.

  - Add TCP_MAXSEG sockopt to MPTCP.

  - Add IPv6 force_forwarding sysctl to enable forwarding per interface.

  - Make TCP validation of whether packet fully fits in the receive
window and the rcv_buf more strict. With increased use of HW
aggregation a single "packet" can be multiple 100s of kB.

  - Add MSG_MORE flag to optimize large TCP transmissions via sockmap,
improves latency up to 33% for sockmap users.

  - Convert TCP send queue handling from tasklet to BH workque.

  - Improve BPF iteration over TCP sockets to see each socket exactly once.

  - Remove obsolete and unused TCP RFC3517/RFC6675 loss recovery code.

  - Support enabling kernel threads for NAPI processing on per-NAPI
instance basis rather than a whole device. Fully stop the kernel NAPI
thread when threaded NAPI gets disabled. Previously thread would stick
around until ifdown due to tricky synchronization.

  - Allow multicast routing to take effect on locally-generated packets.

  - Add output interface argument for End.X in segment routing.

  - MCTP: add support for gateway routing, improve bind() handling.

  - Don't require rtnl_lock when fetching an IPv6 neighbor over Netlink.

  - Add a new neighbor flag ("extern_valid"), which cedes refresh
responsibilities to userspace. This is needed for EVPN multi-homing
where a neighbor entry for a multi-homed host needs to be synced
across all the VTEPs among which the host is multi-homed.

  - Support NUD_PERMANENT for proxy neighbor entries.

  - Add a new queuing discipline for IETF RFC9332 DualQ Coupled AQM.

  - Add sequence numbers to netconsole messages. Unregister netconsole's
console when all net targets are removed. Code refactoring.
    Add a number of selftests.

  - Align IPSec inbound SA lookup to RFC 4301. Only SPI and protocol
should be used for an inbound SA lookup.

  - Support inspecting ref_tracker state via DebugFS.

  - Don't force bonding advertisement frames tx to ~333 ms boundaries.
Add broadcast_neighbor option to send ARP/ND on all bonded links.

  - Allow providing upcall pid for the 'execute' command in openvswitch.

  - Remove DCCP support from Netfilter's conntrack.

  - Disallow multiple packet duplications in the queuing layer.

  - Prevent use of deprecated iptables code on PREEMPT_RT.

 Driver API
 ----------

  - Support RSS and hashing configuration over ethtool Netlink.

  - Add dedicated ethtool callbacks for getting and setting hashing fields.

  - Add support for power budget evaluation strategy in PSE /
Power-over-Ethernet. Generate Netlink events for overcurrent etc.

  - Support DPLL phase offset monitoring across all device inputs.
Support providing clock reference and SYNC over separate DPLL
    inputs.

  - Support traffic classes in devlink rate API for bandwidth management.

  - Remove rtnl_lock dependency from UDP tunnel port configuration.

John Ernberg 0d9cfc9b8c net: usbnet: Avoid potential RCU stall on LINK_CHANGE event
The Gemalto Cinterion PLS83-W modem (cdc_ether) is emitting confusing link
up and down events when the WWAN interface is activated on the modem-side.

Interrupt URBs will in consecutive polls grab:
* Link Connected
* Link Disconnected
* Link Connected

Where the last Connected is then a stable link state.

When the system is under load this may cause the unlink_urbs() work in
__handle_link_change() to not complete before the next usbnet_link_change()
call turns the carrier on again, allowing rx_submit() to queue new SKBs.

In that event the URB queue is filled faster than it can drain, ending up
in a RCU stall:

    rcu: INFO: rcu_sched detected expedited stalls on CPUs/tasks: { 0-.... } 33108 jiffies s: 201 root: 0x1/.

Get around the problem by delaying the carrier on to the scheduled work.

The carrier ok check cannot be removed as it remains required for the
LINK_RESET event flow.

Kyle Tso 4d27afbf25 usb: typec: tcpci: Prevent Sink disconnection before vPpsShutdown in SPR PPS
The Source can drop its output voltage to the minimum of the requested
PPS APDO voltage range when it is in Current Limit Mode. If this voltage
falls within the range of vPpsShutdown, the Source initiates a Hard
Reset and discharges Vbus. However, currently the Sink may disconnect
before the voltage reaches vPpsShutdown, leading to unexpected behavior.

Prevent premature disconnection by setting the Sink's disconnect
threshold to the minimum vPpsShutdown value. Additionally, consider the
voltage drop due to IR drop when calculating the appropriate threshold.
This ensures a robust and reliable interaction between the Source and
Sink during SPR PPS Current Limit Mode operation.

Xu Yang ec841b8d73 usb: chipidea: add CI_HDRC_HAS_SHORT_PKT_LIMIT flag
Currently, the imx deivice controller has below limitations:

1. can't generate short packet interrupt if IOC not set in dTD. So if one
request span more than one dTDs and only the last dTD set IOC, the usb
request will pending there if no more data comes.
2. the controller can't accurately deliver data to differtent usb requests
in some cases due to short packet. For example: one usb request span 3
dTDs, then if the controller received a short packet the next packet
will go to 2nd dTD of current request rather than the first dTD of next
   request.
3. can't build a bus packet use multiple dTDs. For example: controller
needs to send one packet of 512 bytes use dTD1 (200 bytes) + dTD2
(312 bytes), actually the host side will see 200 bytes short packet.

Based on these limits, add CI_HDRC_HAS_SHORT_PKT_LIMIT flag and use it on
imx platforms.

Krzysztof Kozlowski af8a6e65f4 USB: serial: set driver owner when registering drivers
Modules registering drivers with usb_serial_register_drivers() might
forget to set .owner field. The field is used by some of other kernel
parts for reference counting (try_module_get()), so it is expected that
drivers will set it.

Solve the problem by moving this task away from the drivers to the core
USB serial code, just like we did for platform_driver in
commit 9447057eaf ("platform_device: use a macro instead of
platform_driver_register").

André Draszik 83b254c13a usb: typec: tcpci: use GENMASK() for TCPC_ROLE_CTRL_CC[12]
All this open-coded shifting and masking is quite hard to read, in
particular the if-statement in tcpci_apply_rc().

Declare TCPC_ROLE_CTRL_CC[12] using GENMASK() which allows using
FIELD_GET() and FIELD_PREP() to arguably make the code more legible.

André Draszik f523aa6d72 usb: typec: tcpci: use GENMASK() for TCPC_CC_STATUS_CC[12]
The existing code here, particularly in maxim_contaminant.c, is
arguably quite hard to read due to the open-coded masking and shifting
spanning multiple lines.

Use GENMASK() and FIELD_GET() instead, which arguably make the code
much easier to follow.

While at it, use the symbolic name TCPC_CC_STATE_SRC_OPEN for one
instance of open-coded 0x0.
